Explainify is an explainer video and animation company based in Fayetteville, Arkansas. While their brand had been around for a while, Explainify had come to a point where the website needed an overhaul, a re-think on case study organization, and perhaps a few tweaks to brand colors to help the design sing.

Brand Colors + Logo Presentation
Before we started this project, Explainify use blue exclusively but there were so many other colors at play, that blue barely felt like the primary color identity. So we scaled everything back to black and blue. The optional pink and gray really had a lot of promise so we moved to illustration with those. It was all so beautifully simple.
Illustration style
We started by setting the illustration style for the brand. Since Explainify produced a lot of videos for clients that featured every brand color on the color wheel, we decided to work within a mono-chromatic format for illustration that would draw stark contrast between Explainify brand and their client’s brand.
Joke a little
We say this with every brand but: those who are willing to break the monotony of marketing copy and sales lingo will always win big. All it takes is a little joke here and there to invite fun-loving people to fall in love with your brand. We tried to bring that to this project too.
Icon Use Cases
Iconography was part of the illustration process. We created over 30 illustrated pieces in total, to represent products, use cases, general brand calls to action and more.
The Website
With these changes established we had a visual language for the brand and rules in place to ensure that the website layouts would feel original, in-brand and in-voice.
